Accepting Clients for Assessment, and Treatment

Welcome! I am Anna German, an experienced Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a passion for providing comprehensive and compassionate care. With a robust background in various healthcare settings, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my practice.

I began my journey in healthcare by earning my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from York University in 2007. Driven by a commitment to excellence and continuous learning, I went on to complete my Master of Science in Nursing, further enhancing my skills and knowledge. In 2015, I obtained my Nurse Practitioner’s degree from Ryerson University, solidifying my foundation in advanced clinical practice.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working in diverse clinical settings, including acute care environments including NICU, in clinic settings, community settings, and long-term care environments. These experiences have given me a well-rounded perspective on patient care and the unique challenges individuals face in different stages of life.

For the past 10 years, I have been dedicated to shaping the next generation of nurses by teaching at a post-secondary institution. This role has allowed me to share my knowledge, mentor aspiring nurses, and contribute to the future of the nursing profession.

Now, as a Certified Nurse Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I offer counseling sessions to individuals of all ages who may be experiencing challenging life situations or need support managing mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use, borderline personality disorder, ADHD/ADD, and OCD. My approach is rooted in the nursing model, which emphasizes a holistic perspective. I consider the whole person, taking into account lifestyle, background, family dynamics, and other variables that can influence mental health.

In my practice, I strive to create a nurturing, non-judgmental environment where you can feel safe and understood. I am here to help you navigate feelings of being “stuck,” lost, hopeless, or discouraged. We all experience these emotions at some point in our lives, and sometimes it feels like there’s no one to talk to. My goal is to support you with compassion and care, helping you find a path forward.

One of benefits of seeing a Certified Nurse Psychotherapist and a Nurse Practitioner is that they can prescribe and monitor medications for mental health as well as provide psychotherapy sessions with one health care practitioner.

I am dedicated to offering personalized care tailored to your unique needs. Together, we can work towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Taking the first step to reach out for support can be challenging, and can also lead to great opportunities for change and healing. I am a psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience in the public sector of mental health, and I provide in person, and virtual therapy to people (16+).

My primary focus is working with individuals and couples who struggle with symptoms or concerns related to trauma (inclusive of work related). I also provide couples therapy outside of a trauma scope, and work with individuals who struggle with symptoms of anxiety, life transitions and grief.

I have experience working with a variety of evidenced based modalities (Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, etc.) that can help people resolve their trauma, gain insight, engage in self-regulation, develop and enhance internal resources, improve relationships with self and others, increase awareness of unhelpful relational patterns, etc. I also utilize other forms of therapy that I have received training in such as Internal Family Systems, Emotional Focused Attachment Therapy, Gottman Method etc. to help both individuals and couples, and have a strong interest in psychedelic therapy, so I offer prep and integration sessions.

My goal is to provide a space where all parts of people are welcome so they can truly feel seen and heard without judgement in order to build compassion for themselves and others. I look forward to hearing from you, and am always honoured to be a part of your journey.
